Reception
Our training centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our customers' safety and airline security being our primary concern, we ensure all access to our training centre is carefully controlled.
Regular hours: Our receptionists are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
After regular hours: Visitors will be met by our security staff at the main reception entrance and escorted into the training centre.
Assistance and Emergencies
Should you need to contact us during your stay, the centre's general telephone number is +44 (0) 1444 247535. However if you need to contact us during out of office hours the number is +44 (0) 1444 251042. Should you need office support, please see our customer services representative. For training related issues it is best to contact our instructors who are assigned to you. For dry-lease training please see our customer services representative.
Family and friends are not permitted to enter the centre without the prior approval of the centre's management and security controller. However, if entrance is granted, our safety regulations prohibit you from taking your family or friends into the simulators.
Should you need to see a doctor or dentist, please see our customer services representative, duty operator or receptionists to make arrangements. After regular office hours, our security staff will assist with any emergency requirements.
On hearing the fire alarm, please exit the building by the shortest fire exit route and proceed to the main car park, where fire wardens will account for all occupants of the building and will advise when it is safe to return to the building.
Photocopies/Faxes/Telephones
There is a photocopier in the general office on the mezzanine floor. Please feel free to make copies of your training material.
To send a fax to your company, there is a fax machine available at the customer services desk in reception.
Messages
A message board is located in the lounge area and outside the general office.
Lockers
One or more lockers to stow away training material are available to each customer. To obtain a locker, please see our customer services representative, who will issue a key.
It is important that you return your key(s) once you have finished with your locker(s), as future colleagues will also need them. A key drop off point is located next to the lockers if you need to return the key(s) out of hours.
The centre is not responsible for any missing belongings, personal or company-related. Please see or contact our staff should you have any items that do not fit in the locker(s).
Photography
It is prohibited to take any photographs inside or around the training centre.
Computers
There is a computer located in the lounge area dedicated to customer Internet access. There is a computer in the operations room for browsing training equipment snags on our local network.
Laptop DistributionA laptop for the duration of the ground school training course will be allocated to you from the laptop distribution room. Please keep your laptop with you at all times, or store it locked in an allocated locker when it is not in use, as you will be responsible for returning the laptop at the end of your course. If you need to return the laptop after regular office hours, please leave it locked in your allocated locker and leave the locker key and return slip in the key drop off point located next to the lockers.
Coffee/Tea/Snacks
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks can be purchased from the vending machines adjacent to the lounge.
Luncheon Facilities
Café Concepts is open from 09:30 to 14:00 Monday-Friday.
Vending machines are situated in the café area, which offer a variety of sandwiches and snacks for purchase after regular Café Concepts service hours. However it is prohibited to eat and drink inside or around the simulators or training equipment.
Smoking
Smoking is only permitted in the dedicated shelter just behind the training centre, accessible via the patio area outside the deli facility. Please dispose of cigarettes in the dedicated bin beside the smoking shelter.
We are proud of the centre and we strive to keep our building clean and tidy, consequently, we ask everyone's co-operation in taking care of the facilities.
Health & Safety
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, CAE has a legal duty to ensure that the workplace and the practices carried out in that workplace are safe.
We, at the training centre, are responsible for the safety of all those who come into contact with the Company and its products and services. We are committed to comply with the requirements of the act and shall do all that is reasonably practicable to prevent personal injury and to protect everyone from foreseeable hazards in so far as they come into contact with the company, its products and services.
