  • Flight Training Device/Cockpit Procedures Trainer

  • A flight training device (FTD) or cockpit procedures trainer (CPT) are both fixed-based training devices that are ideal for procedural and familiarization training tasks. An FTD/CPT can be used to offload some of the training tasks from the full-mission simulator (FMS), thereby lowering costs and enabling more efficient use of the FMS.

CAE can design a FTD/CPT to varying levels of complexity depending on the type of training requirement that needs to be met. With each increasing level of complexity, the FTD/CPT can more accurately represent the actual aircraft cockpit and flight characteristics. The FTD/CPT is an ideal training device for assisting aircrews in learning the cockpit layout and the location of switches, lights, instruments, and other aircraft functions.
