EU-OPS is applicable to all aircraft registered or operated commercially in the European Union.

Regulation 3922/1991 on the harmonization of technical requirements and administrative procedures in the field of civil aviation, including Annex III on the operation of aircraft for the purpose of commercial air transport -- generally known as 'EU-OPS' -- became applicable in EU member states July 16, 2008.

The CAE cabin crew initial safety training program complies with EU-OPS requirements. All modules are taught by highly qualified instructors who have extensive experience as cabin crew members. The courses are designed to meet specific airline requirements or to comply with CAE’s course syllabus, approved by the National Aviation Authority. The training is offered over a multi-week period and will be completed with a final exam.

After successful completion of the course, students will receive the “Attestation of initial safety training.”

The following modules are covered:

  • Fire and smoke training
  • General survival training
  • Water survival training
  • Medical aspects and first aid
  • Dealing with passengers
  • Communication
  • Disciplines and responsibilities
  • Initial crew resource management
