
Is this training approved by the National Aviation Authorities?
Yes, CAE's cabin crew initial safety training programs are approved by the National Aviation Authority of the country in which training is conducted.
In Amsterdam, the program is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority Netherlands (IVW). In Madrid, the program is approved by the Spanish aviation authority, AESA. These approvals are valid in all European Union countries.
Upon successful completion of the training you will receive the “Attestation of Initial Safety Training” certificate.
Why train with CAE?
CAE has its own cabin safety training facilities with a variety of narrow- and wide-body aircraft door trainers, cabin trainers, slides, slide rafts, life rafts and instruction rooms equipped with safety equipment for hands-on training. In addition, CAE has a fire fighter trainer for fire and smoke training.
All CAE cabin safety instructors have extensive experience as cabin crew members and as instructors within civil aviation. Our training is practical and straightforward, and you can count on receiving world-class initial cabin safety training!
CAE will also provide resumes of its graduates to airlines with which CAE has long-standing relationships. When you apply for a job, after having completed the cabin crew initial safety training, you will be better prepared for interviews and you will be better equipped to complete the airline's required operations training.
I am 18 years of age; can I become a cabin attendant?
Yes. Some airlines require a minimum age of 18; others require a minimum age of 21.
I wear glasses, is that a problem?
It is not a problem as long as your eyesight prescription is between -5 and +5.
Do I need to wear a uniform during the training?
No, you do not need to wear a uniform; however, we do expect you to dress appropriately and professionally.
Is the training offered in a theoretical and practical way?
Yes. Our training complies with the EU-OPS requirements. Both theoretical and practical training is provided during the initial safety training, such as water survival, fire fighting, slide jumps, handling of safety equipment, etc.
Do I need to bring any material for the training?
No. CAE Training and Services provides you with all the necessary material (manuals, handouts, etc.) for the training.
Is it possible to complete the initial cabin safety training program through distance learning?
No, this is not an option. The training complies with the EU-OPS requirements, which states that practical training in addition to theoretical training is required. During practical training students need to use and become familiar with cabin safety equipment.
