Courses and educational programs offered by CAE Healthcare include:
Adult Acute Care Code Blue Education and Training ProgramDesigned to meet the unique situations and needs of various healthcare providers ultimately responding to Code Blue events, this regional and multidisciplinary program provides AED (Automatic External Defibrillators) training for all those who need it. The remainder of the program has been adapted for the following groups of healthcare providers: Code Blue Response Teams, Clinical Professional Staff and clinical and non clinical support staff at hospitals, community clinics and extended care facilities.
Interprofessional Collaborative Practice ProgramThis program includes several courses addressing the needs of various healthcare team configurations such as surgical teams, multidisciplinary teams and inter-professional healthcare teams. Simulation-based scenarios allow individual members to play their respective roles while gaining a better understanding of their interaction requirements with other team members to ensure the effective, safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
Transport ProgramDeveloped for Respiratory Therapists (RTs) providing Inter-Facility Patient Transport, the Transport program includes several courses. All participants must have completed the American Heart Association (AHA)or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support. (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) courses.
Labour & Delivery Transport
The goal of the course is to provide the knowledge and skills required to safely transport Labor and Delivery patients to healthcare facilities. The course design provides 3D multimedia online content to ensure learners’ prerequisite understanding of the patient’s condition, of possible complications and of the established protocols that can be put to use. This is followed by training and practice at a simulation centre using high technology OB mannequins.
Pediatric Transport
This course focuses on preparing participants for the transportation of children by imparting the knowledge of their developmental differences and providing the specific skills required to maintain and manage pediatric protocols during their transport.
