CAE ICCU Imaging™ Bedside Ultrasound Training Solutions

Bringing ultrasound education to the next level

In the fast paced clinical environment of today’s medical world, having the expertise to make the right decisions quickly
is a must. Bedside ultrasound has emerged as an invaluable tool to speed up and improve the management
of a variety of clinical and non-clinical cases, but its successful application depends entirely on the skill of its users.

The CAE ICCU bedside ultrasound e-learning curriculum is a unique and comprehensive program, which covers all components of the use of bedside ultrasound for the focused cardiac ultrasound (FOCUS) exam, assessment of central and peripheral vessels, and assessment of pleural spaces and lung. Through 17 hours of multimedia, interactive
e-learning modules and more than 900 multimedia questions or our onsite hands-on seminars, learners will develop expertise and confidence.

Using real-time dynamic imaging and a custom-designed mannequin, the CAE VIMEDIX echocardiography simulator, provides healthcare professionals with an unparalleled training environment for the thoracic cavity and basic to complex cardiac pathologies. Learners can perform a realistic echo assessment of cardiac structures, practice hand-eye coordination and probe handling, and improve pathology recognition skills. The 3D animated heart can be independently cut and rotated, rib and lung artefacts can be toggled on/off. Images can be adjusted with EKG tracing, gain and contrast settings, depth of field, as well as calliper and area measurements. The software also allows the handler to perform rib acoustic shadowing, lung artefacts, reverberations and other realistic imaging features.
