Magnetic Anomaly Detection

CAE has been designing and manufacturing magnetic anomaly detection (MAD) systems for over 40 years, and has delivered over 2,000 MAD systems to military forces around the world. The latest CAE MAD system is the Advanced Integrated MAD System (AIMS), which is also designated by the military nomenclature as the AN/ASQ-508(V). Most of the CAE MAD systems have been installed on anti-submarine warfare aircraft, including both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The MAD system has been used primarily for the detection of submarines, but can also be used for other surveillance and detection applications.
