Military applications

CAE provides a myriad of features that can fulfill many types of military training requirements of various degrees of complexity.  Some of these include:

• Nap of earth (NOE) flying over various terrain types down to 50 feet used for low level flying applications.
• Helicopter formation flying.
• Confined area landing (CAL sites) designed to allow helicopter pilots to manoeuvre in difficult and constrained areas (urban or forested).
• Offshore platforms with landing deck.
• For cargo training, drop zones with appropriate markings and unprepared strips for emergency landing.
• Shooting practice ranges for fast jets that include bombing circles and strafe.
• Underwater databases that are developed for both sonar and visual(camera) applications for a variety of training such as anti-submarine warfare and Mine hunting.

These features combined with our extensive library of 3D moving objects and vehicles allow users to quickly generate accurate training scenes and environments.

A library containing more than 4,000 buildings, trees and 3D features is available and can be applied to generate accurate and highly-detailed synthetic environments.
