CAE Side-by-Side™
CAE Side-by-Side™ was born out of the need to view correlation inconsistencies among different forms of the same terrain area. CAE Side-by-Side™ is an operating system-independent, PC-based terrain database analysis, conversion, and verification tool that allows easy exploration, visualization, and conversion of SEDRIS transmittals, CTDB, OpenFLT, VRML, and OTF databases. Several visualization modes are supported including 3D side-by-side link and flicker modes. Multiple databases can be imported into CAE Side-by-Side™ to find discrepancies amongst different formats and versions of a single environment.
Key Benefits
Convert your databases to a common format
The conversion capability of CAE Side-by-Side™ supports various combinations of formats using a robust plug-in architecture called DataPipe. Existing plug-ins include formats such as OneSAF Terrain Format (OTF) and OpenFLT. All databases imported into CAE Side-by-Side™ can be exported into OpenFlight.
Compare multiple databases simultaneously
CAE Side-by-Side™ allows the user to display multiple databases simultaneously, simplifying the process of finding discrepancies amongst different formats of the same database. This is accomplished by comparing the data being displayed in CAE Side-by-Side™ in one of the link modes.
Key Features
Cross-platform terrain database analysis, conversion, and verification tool
CAE Side-by-Side™ imports SEDRIS, CTDB, and OpenFLT databases. The tool converts the databases to OpenFLT and AcuScene Database Format (ASDB).
Visualize databases in 2D and 3D views
CAE Side-by-Side™ provides the ability to visualize databases in 2D and 3D views. View modes include 3D side-by-side (link & separate) and flicker. These views can be displayed both independently as well as simultaneously.
Analyzing visual details
CAE Side-by-Side™ supports interrogation of specific scene graph data elements, such as polygonal or material attribution via tree dialog views.
Supporting vast amounts of geometry
CAE Side-by-Side™ supports viewing of vast amounts of feature data (i.e. point, linear, and area features). Some examples are trees, rivers, roads, and buildings.
Easy-to-use interface
CAE Side-by-Side™ is extremely user friendly including intuitive navigation controls for panning and zooming the terrain datasets.
