CAE Simfinity™ Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT)

The CAE Simfinity™ integrated procedures trainer (IPT) provides aircrews with realistic procedural training in a three-dimensional (3D) environment. It uses the same software as the CAE Simfinity two-dimensional (2D) laptop and desktop training devices, but the flight compartment interface is spread on touch-sensitive LCD monitors with the ability to use additional displays for an out-the-window visual scene. The CAE Simfinity IPT is independent of aircraft-specific hardware and can be reconfigured for multiple aircraft types. The integrated procedures trainer can be used in freeplay mode with the assistance of an instructor, or self-paced by running the simulation-based courseware. The CAE Simfinity IPT uses the same simulation software as used on CAE's full-mission simulators.

CAE has designed and manufactured a range of CAE Simfinity integrated procedures trainers, including one for the Lynx helicopter to be delivered to the Royal Navy.
