C-130 Tampa Training Center

CAE owns and operates a comprehensive training centre in Tampa, Florida for operators of the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft (also called the C-130/L-382 as a commercial variant). CAE's C-130 Tampa Training Center offers bilingual (English/Spanish) aircrew and maintenance courses in 12 state-of-the-art classrooms.

At the heart of the training center is two C-130H full-mission simulators and a C-130H flight training device, which have been used by 23 different operators from 17 countries to train aircrews and maintenance personnel. Customers include the U.S. Air Force Reserves, U.S. Air National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy Reserves and more than 20 international militaries who fly the venerable Hercules aircraft.

CAE offers a comprehensive curriculum for pilots, flight engineers, loadmasters, and maintenance technicians, including:

C-130/L-382 pilot initial/transition

This course introduces qualified pilots to the C-130/L-382 systems, flight characteristics and accepted operating procedures.

C-130/L-382 flight engineer initial/transition

This course introduces qualified flight engineers to the C-130/L-382 systems, flight characteristics, and accepted operating procedures.

C-130/L-382 aircrew refresher

This course, geared to qualified C-130/L-382 flight crews, reinforces and re-emphasizes the current normal and emergency C-130/L-382 aircraft operating procedures.

C-130/L-382 air loadmaster recurrency/refresher

This course, geared to qualified C-130/L-382 air loadmasters, reinforces and re-emphasizes the accepted C-130/L-382 procedures and limitations for the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and cargo.

C-130/L-382 aircraft general

This course familiarizes aircraft maintenance supervisors and managers with C-130/L-382 accepted ground-handling procedures.

C-130/L-382 airframes and structures

This course familiarizes qualified aircraft maintenance personnel with the installation, theory of operation, and accepted maintenance procedures for the C-130/L-382 structural and hydraulics systems.

C-130/L-382 avionics and electrical

This course familiarizes qualified aircraft maintenance personnel with the installation, theory of operation, and accepted maintenance procedures for C-130/L-382 avionics and electrical systems.

C-130/L-382 crew resource management

This course, geared to C-130/L-382 flight crews, reinforces and re-emphasizes the necessity for flight crew cooperation and coordination.

C-130/L-382 engine run

This course familiarizes aircraft maintenance and aircrew personnel with the accepted procedures for the ground operation, test and check of C-130/L-382 aircraft engines.

C-130/L-382 environmental

This course familiarizes maintenance personnel with the theory of operation, troubleshooting and accepted maintenance procedures for the C-130/L-382 aircraft pneumatic systems.

C-130/L-382 fuel system

This course reviews the inspection, maintenance and sealing of C-130 aircraft fuel tanks. It also includes a complete description of the fuel tanks, sealant materials, types and causes of leaks, corrosion identification and fuel tank safety.

C-130/L382 GTC, ATM, and APU

This course familiarizes maintenance personnel with the theory of operation, troubleshooting and accepted maintenance procedures for the gas turbine compressor (GTC), air turbine motor (ATM) and auxiliary power unit (APU) used on the C-130/L-382 aircraft.

C-130/L-382 guidance

This course covers complete system descriptions including component locations, normal operation, data flow analysis, operational checkout, troubleshooting, removal and replacement, adjustment and routine inspection of the aircraft guidance systems.

C-130/L-382 power plants and related systems

This course familiarizes qualified aircraft maintenance personnel with the installation, theory of operation, and accepted maintenance procedures for the C-130/L-382 engine and propeller systems.
