CAE offers a high-fidelity UAV simulator that we also call the UAV reconfigurable training system (RTS). It is called the UAV RTS because it is an integrated product that combines a vehicle operator station with a synthetic environment to support UAV research, training and operational systems. The ground control station can be platform-specific or generic, and can be switched to control either a real air vehicle or a simulated air vehicle in a synthetic mission space. In addition, CAE's UAV RTS can serve as a hybrid system for providing live and virtual connectivity while providing air vehicle and mission payload operators with a consistent interface. In the synthetic mission space, the simulated air vehicle(s) operate against simulated terrain, weather, and computer-generated forces.
As a training platform, CAE's UAV RTS operates as a versatile, multi-role UAV simulator for the following applications:
- Permanent/fixed training facility where the UAV RTS is connected to either the operational UAV ground control station or to a simulated ground control station for advanced UAV mission team training and mission rehearsal.
- Deployed operation where the UAV RTS is packaged in a ruggedized rack-mounted configuration for training deployed UAV operators.
