Product skills training
To get the most out of any product, it helps to know the detail and have access to the people who built it. CAE Mining brings more than 25 years experience in application development for the mining industry to our product training to provide the answers and hands-on experience that enable our customers to rapidly become effective. Geologists, mining engineers and surveyors attending our courses not only learn the functionality, but also how to apply that knowledge for their site and circumstances. Whilst each ore-body is unique, our experience with more than a thousand customers allows us to bring the necessary understanding of how to get the most from our products.

Product implementation consulting
The success of any new system can be jeopardised by the user's level of understanding and acceptance of new ways of working. Product training alone will often not achieve the specific outcomes an organisation is seeking. In the mining industry, this is a persistent issue as high turnover in many areas prevail or technical knowledge and process leadership reside with a few key resources. In response to this fact, CAE Mining provides project management and implementation services that provide the framework to achieve exploration and mine planning process improvements. Our proven implementation methodology provides a framework for delivering consistent quality outcomes where risks are properly managed throughout.
An initial scoping study ensures that our consultants understand our customers’ challenges and that our customers in turn have a step-by-step plan ensuring there are no surprises. In the early stages of each project we bring together our knowledge of the product with our customers’ knowledge of their work practices to design future processes that encapsulate industry best practice and case specific requirements. The end solution is then configured before users receive appropriate, tailored training not only on the product, but on the entire work practice. Geology and mining consulting
With a team of more than 100 specialists, CAE Mining offers technical consulting services for geology and mine planning across planning horizons from short-term to strategic.
Our geologists can assess geological risk and perform regulatory reporting. Our mining engineers can provide advice on planning, scheduling and mine optimisation and improvements. Our geometallurgists can assist with process engineering improvements and geometallurgical assessments
We specialize in solving complex technical problems with experienced staff that have the proven ability to perform the necessary assessment and provide informed advice, including mineral resource and ore reserve estimations and feasibility studies for key decision-making.
Operational improvement consulting
CAE Mining's focus extends beyond specific technical domains within mining and is helping customers address larger and often broader challenges in the industry. Efficiency, safety and governance are at the forefront of every mining executive's thoughts and CAE Mining has demonstrable experience in delivering outcomes in those areas.
Our use of multi-parametric modelling to incorporate not only geophysical and grade distribution data, but geometallurgical, geohydrological and other geotechnical information, leads to better understanding of the ore-body and appropriate mine design. In practical terms, it can lead to enhancements of blast designs to optimise production costs by minimising load times and energy consumption in mills.
Our use of remote sensing for rock mass structures provides safe, accurate and fast solutions for mapping geological features and interpreting geotechnical characteristics.
Our development of industry-leading solutions for mining data and process management addresses regulatory reporting requirements that shape many of the industry's technical practices today. With projects in less developed countries, such requirements need to be achieved through tailored plans.
