CAE Rise Data Analytics Supplement Kongsberg K-Sim Bridge Training

CAE has adapted its Real-time Insights and Standardized Evaluation (RISE) product to enhance naval training. CAE Rise is a data-driven training system that leverages big data analytics to make training more objective, efficient and effective. A proven training system with CAE's global civil and military aviation customers, CAE Rise measures trainee performance in a simulator against pre-defined standards. CAE Rise fosters student-centric learning, reduces the instructor's assessment workload, and provides objective real-time insights into student performance which can be used for more effective coaching during the lesson. The student benefits from more focused coaching and feedback tailored to their strengths and weaknesses. Analysis of results for multiple students and cohorts over time identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of training. By interfacing CAE Rise to Kongsberg Digital's K-Sim Navigation (ship's bridge) simulator and defining relevant scenarios, CAE and Kongsberg Digital are optimizing training efficacy for bridge watchkeepers.

CAE’s Global Naval Experience

CAE has four decades of experience supporting the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and Canada’s defence research program through our modeling and simulation, training, and human factors engineering capabilities. Building on this experience, we continue to contribute to Canadian naval capability through our involvement in the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) project. Our global experience includes delivering a Naval Warfare Training System (NWTS) to the Royal Swedish Navy and leading the design and development of a comprehensive Naval Doctrine and Combat Training Centre (NDCTC) for the United Arab Emirates Navy.

CAE has also delivered modern Bridge Part-Task Trainers for the United States Navy Littoral Combat Ship, delivered by Xebec, a Joint Venture between CAE USA and Pinnacle Solutions, and we are upgrading the US Army’s Maritime Integrated Training System (MITS).

Under the five-year Platform Systems Training Contract (PSTC) CAE is supporting the transformation of future training delivered to mariners across the Canberra Class Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD), Hobart Class Destroyer (DDG), Supply Class Auxiliary Oiler Replenisher (AOR) and Huon Class Minehunter Coastal (MHC). CAE’s innovative solution will enable the Royal Australian Navy to accelerate training throughput and enhance delivery of sustainable distributed training - on-site, in port, and at sea.

Please join CAE’s team at CANSEC 2023 and learn more about how we can help modernize your naval training systems and delivery.
