Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

The CAE Oslo Modular CPL/ATPL program is a NOKUT and Lånekassen approved ab initio theory and flight training program, which provides access to funding through Lånekassen.

There are four (4) modular program options that all lead to the award of an EASA ATPL. Depending on the modular program most suitable, training will be delivered at both CAE’s flight academy in Torp, and its Training Centre in Oslo.

CAE Oslo is CAE’s fourth cadet training location in Europe adding to its existing cadet training capability in Brussels, Belgium; Madrid, Spain and Oxford, UK.

Course Outline

The duration of the CAE Oslo Modular CPL/ATPL pilot program ranges from 15 months to 2-years depending on the course elements you need. Modular cadets may elect to join the Integrated ATPL TKI course delivered full time at the CAE Oslo Training Center.  Places are subject to availability.

Courses are scheduled three times per year in February, May and August. There are four (4) modular options available and the route you choose is determined by your previous experience and or existing certificates, licenses and ratings.

THE CAE APS MCC is delivered in a B737 CAE Full Flight Simulator

Options to add on

  • CAE Keep Current Program
    • Available on graduation after successful completion of course
    • Access to flight training devices (FNPTII / FTD / FFS) and Multi-engine aircraft for the purpose of refresher training and licensing/rating currency requirements
  • Ordinary Degree in Airline Transport Management with Pilot Training (Bucks New University)
    • Modules for the degree credits completed in parallel with theory and flight training

Student loans and grants

CAE Oslo’s modular programs are NOKUT and Lånekassen approved “Fagskole” and awards 120 student points under the Norwegian school system. There is up to 100% financing available through Lånekassen.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the start of the programme
  • Have successfully completed secondary education
  • Be proficient in the English language (verbal and written)
  • Be able to obtain an EASA Class 1 Medical without restrictions
