In Australia, CAE delivers enhanced technical training to students before they enter the fleet as proficient Marine Technicians, Electronic Technicians, Communication Information Systems, and Boatswain’s Mates. Primarily delivered at the Navy Training Systems Centre (NTSC-R) in Sydney, CAE enhances Australia’s maritime and national security capabilities by providing safe, timely, and valuable training on behalf of Training Authorities - Engineering and Maritime Warfare.
Platform and Systems Training is delivered in partnership between CAE, the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), and industry partners across the Landing Helicopter Dock, Guided Missile Destroyers, Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment, and Huon-class Minehunter Coastal platforms. The training bridges the gap between generic category and trade training, and platform-specific systems, building upon foundation training provided in earlier stages of sailor’s careers, ensuring they are ready to conduct their roles safely and effectively. CAE’s training suite spans a total of 118 courses that leverage innovative solutions to deliver greater flexibility in training and relevant courseware for modern learners to maintain currency to the required fleet standards.
CAE has a significant focus on Continuous Improvement & Innovation (CI&I) to ensure the best possible outcomes are delivered for students and the Royal Australian Navy. CAE combines key elements such as Technology Integration, Adaptive Learning, Gamification, Blended Learning, and Agile Training design to maintain the delivery of innovative and enhanced training across the five platforms.
CAE acts as a central source to deliver current, relevant and engaging technical training for sailors to operate and maintain the latest systems and technologies. CAE offers the ability to generate efficiencies in training pipelines, create ease of panelling and flexibility in course scheduling, cater to changes in fleet activity, and reduce the cost and demand on Fleet Units by enabling remote learning.
