Building Australian Naval Capability

A Multi-Class Integrated and Networked approach to Training Excellence (MINTE) is the method that naval forces across the globe are striving to achieve. Modern forces typically struggle with recruitment and retention of skilled sailors and officers, while facing budgetary constraints and challenges to improve interoperability across the fleet and with other domains. By defining and building an integrated approach to training, an optimised training system will enable naval forces to overcome these challenges.

Transforming maritime technical training

Naval technical training critical component of naval capability, yet it is often lagging in investment and modernisation. Too often, technical training is reliant on presentations on previous versions of onboard systems. It must be aligned to current and future systems upgrades and employ the latest technology to effectively develop the proficiency level required for each technician. The application of virtual reality and mixed reality tools are enhancing the learning experience for both students and instructors, providing trainees with the ability to explore flexible training options and courseware.
