In 2021, CAE acquired L3Harris’ Military Training business, which included Link Simulation & Training and Doss Aviation. These businesses are now integrated with CAE USA as part of CAE’s Defense & Security business unit.
Following the acquisition of L3Harris Military, which included Link Simulation & Training, CAE is now the leading provider of F-16 pilot and maintenance training. We build high-fidelity training solutions on proven common hardware and software systems that extend the integrated F-16 training baseline and can be customized to meet each customer's unique requirements.
Customers worldwide are benefiting from our suite of F-16 training devices, ranging from concurrency and technology upgrades of fielded systems to delivery of new F-16 pilot and maintenance trainers.
Our F-16 simulation solutions start with the highest fidelity F-16 flight and aero models, integrated with the complete range of F-16 aircraft systems, weapons, and sensors. This capability is underscored by three tiers of commonality, high-fidelity image generators, scalable visual display technology, distributed training networks and human factors-engineered instructor operator stations.
F-16 Simulators Training Program (STP)
In late 2018, L3Harris Link Simulation & Training, now part of CAE USA, was selected as the prime contractor for the U.S. Air Force F-16 Simulators Training Program (STP). The F-16 STP contract consolidates the previous F-16 Mission Training Center (MTC), F-16 Weapons and Tactics Trainer (WTT) Advanced Sustainment, and F-16 Training System (TS) programs into a single, unified program.
Our F-16 SimuStrike™ is an effective low-cost and deployable tactical training solution. The F-16 SimuStrike implements high-fidelity simulation solutions for all F-16 aircraft operational systems and is designed to complement F-16 full-mission simulators. A part task trainer, the F-16 SimuStrike focuses on critical pilot skills in lead and wingman operations.
F-16 Mission Training Center
The F-16 Mission Training Center (MTC) is designed to support aggressive, contemporary mission training events to the highest levels of interoperability standards. The MTC's F-16 Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP) for Block 40/42 And 50/52 pilot training leverages a full range of pilot-proven and time-tested mission simulator and training systems to keep F-16 aircrew better prepared.
The MTC supports full training task list compliance at all levels, including modeling for all F-16 CCIP weapons systems, subsystems, and ordinance from single-ship mode to scalable multi-ship training.
International F-16 programs
We have a long history of supporting allied air forces through foreign military sale (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) contracts. Our F-16 training product line has ongoing programs with Denmark, Egypt, Greece, Iraq, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Taiwan, and Turkey.
Our breadth of capabilities and experience enables the company to deliver customer-unique F-16 simulation systems built on proven common hardware and software solutions. The result is a suite of reliable training solutions that enable pilots and maintainers to develop and enhance their tactical skills in operation of the F-16 multi-role fighter aircraft.
