CAE can provide varying levels of training simulators in support of armoured fighting vehicles (AFV) battlefield tactics and procedures. In essence, CAE's tactics and procedures trainer comprises a series of reconfigurable classroom desktop-type team/crew stations networked together within a common synthetic environment to provide comprehensive training for commanders, crew members and system operators up to company level. In addition to employing virtual entities, desktop trainers may be reconfigured as role-players in order to enable real players such as command posts, air/ground support, and surveillance to be introduced and active within scenarios.

Depending on the tactical training objectives, the tactics and procedures trainer is typically configured as follows:

  • Commander (Individual);
  • Turret/Vehicle Crew (with or without driver);
  • Collective Level 1 - Troop/Platoon/Section;
  • Collective Level 2 - Company Level.

The training system can also be linked to interoperate with the CAE GESI constructive simulation system.  By linking to the constructive simulation, it would enable Company and Battalion to train as an element of a Brigade.
