Ayman Antoun joined CAE’s board in 2022. From 2020 to 2023, Mr. Antoun served as President of IBM Americas, where he was responsible for IBM's revenue, profit, business development, and client satisfaction in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Mr. Antoun began his career at IBM in 1988, and has since held numerous executive and leadership roles, including President of IBM Canada from 2018 to 2020, and General Manager of Global Technology Services from 2016 to 2018. He led IBM’s public sector unit for more than 8 years, serving as IBM Canada President. Mr. Antoun also held the title of Senior Vice President of Business Market Sales at Bell Canada. He currently sits on the board of TD Bank.
Experience, Qualifications, Attributes, and Skills
Over his 35 years at IBM holding executive roles, Mr. Antoun has developed a reputation as a disciplined and strategic leader in the information technology industry. He gained extensive strategic leadership and management experience, notably by managing IBM’s largest geography (Americas), which covered all twelve major industries across fourteen countries. During his time at IBM, Mr. Antoun developed deep expertise in digital, information technology, and cybersecurity through his roles focused on Infrastructure, Cloud, Cognitive Solutions, Security and Digital Reinvention software and hardware. As the leader of IBM’s Public Sector unit, Mr. Antoun acquired extensive public relations experience, engaging with local, provincial and federal governments on a regular basis, and serving as the partnership executive for the Canadian government for over ten years. He also brings deep industry knowledge from his time at IBM in software development, an essential part of CAE’s business. Mr. Antoun holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Executive program in financial analysis, business management and strategic planning.
