U.S. Navy Littoral Combat Ship

Combining its expertise in synthetic environments with those of a Bridge Trainer provider, CAE develops and delivers integrated bridge training solutions that prepare trainees both as individuals and as team members for navigating and operating their ships at sea.

The U.S. Navy Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) comprises two different variants of small modern warships, designed for near-shore operations: LCS 1 – the Freedom-variant, designed by Lockheed Martin; and LCS 2 – Independence-variant, designed by General Dynamics. Built by Xebec, a joint venture between CAE USA and Pinnacle Solutions, the LCS Bridge Part-Task Trainers (BPTTs) enable training ashore for both individuals and Bridge teams. The BPTTs provide training spanning navigation, collision avoidance, advanced ship handling, Bridge resource management, and communications, in settings ranging from entry into harbour to advance tactical exercises.

F/A-18 Training Systems

CAE provides a full range of F/A-18 training systems that support the entire F/A-18 training continuum for both land and sea-based operations. Our F/A-18 Hornet/Super Hornet training systems, which have evolved and trained F/A-18 aircrew for more than 25 years, today deliver tactically relevant training on demand.

CAE has delivered tailored F/A-18 training systems to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and international military customers that include Australia, Canada, Finland, Kuwait, Malaysia, and Switzerland.

U.S. Navy MH-60R Seahawk

CAE is the prime contractor responsible for the design and manufacture of MH-60R tactical operational flight trainers (TOFTs). The MH-60R TOFTs play a key role in the delivery of a safe environment for training and mission readiness of pilot and sensor operator crews who operate the MH-60R “Romeo” helicopter for the Navy.

Flight School Training Support Services (FSTSS)

In 2023, CAE was awarded a contract from General Dynamics Information Technology to support FSTSS at Fort Novosel, Alabama. The contract supports the award to GDIT by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, for simulation capabilities and training support services to prepare initial entry-level and graduate-level rotary wing flight training at Fort Novosel.

CAE Dothan Training Center | Dothan, Alabama

The CAE Dothan Training Center is a 79,000 square-foot training facility providing live-flight and ground-based training to the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and other customers. DTC’s location is at the Dothan Regional Airport in Dothan, Alabama, and is home to the USA Fixed-Wing Flight Training Service and the USAF Rotary Wing, Introductory Flight Training. CAE, with a team of industry partners, uses the DTC to provide the Department of Defense with comprehensive initial and recurrent training for more than 800 USA, USAF, and USN pilots annually.

U.S. Air Force Initial Flight Training | Pueblo, Colorado

CAE, following the acquisition of the former Doss Aviation business, is now operating and delivering the USAF Initial Flight Training (IFT) program. The IFT program provides introductory flight training for USAF candidates. Known as the “Gateway to Air Force Aviation”, our state-of-the-art training facility in Pueblo, Colorado, supports Headquarters Air Education and Training Command (HQ AETC) with initial flight training for USAF aviation candidates. This means the majority of future USAF pilots and all remotely piloted aircraft operators start their aviation careers and receive flight instruction as part of the IFT program now managed by CAE Pueblo Training Center.

C-130 Tampa Training Center | Tampa, Florida

CAE’s Tampa Training Center provides expert aircrew, maintenance, and loadmaster training to operators of the C-130/L-100/L-382 Hercules aircraft. The company has over 20 years’ experience in training the USAF, USN, and U.S. Coast Guard, as well as over 20 international military and commercial operators of the C-130.
