Avionics Essentials

Avionics Essentials for A&Ps - Part I

This is an FAA-accepted course of instruction on fundamental, core principles of avionics. This course covers analog and digital avionics systems included in ATA 23 (Communications) and ATA 34 (Navigation).

The Avionics Essentials Training Part I course is highly recommended for all Line Maintenance Technicians and any aircraft personnel requiring a general but thorough understanding of avionics systems.

The instructor uses Logic Flow Diagrams to simplify the understanding of every system. Upon completing this course, a technician will be able to communicate effectively with pilots and avionics shops, troubleshoot a problem to the component level with a high level of confidence, and restore standard aircraft integrated systems to airworthiness.

This highly interactive course allows students to team solve operational and functional exercises. This teaching technique ensures a higher level of understanding and information retention. It is provided at an ATA Level III course.

Avionics Essentials for A&Ps - Part II

This course in avionics is the second of a two-part series covering the core principles of avionics and beyond.

The Avionics Essentials Training Part II course builds upon the material covered in our Part I course. The Line Maintenance Technicians and related personnel further supplement their understanding with more complex avionics systems topics and knowledge. The course covers analog and digital avionics systems included in ATA 22 AFCS, ATA 31 Indicating/Recording, and ATA 45 Maintenance Diagnostic.

Using Logic Flow Diagrams, the technician will gain a better understanding of every system. Upon completing both parts of this course, a technician will effectively communicate with pilots and avionics shops, troubleshoot a problem to the component level with a high confidence level, and restore standard aircraft integrated systems to airworthiness.

As this course series is very interactive, students will use a team-solve approach to operational and functional exercises to ensure higher understanding and information retention. As with Part I, this is an ATA Level III course.
