ATPL Theory Full Time - Oxford

Theoretical Knowledge Training

• Learn the ATPL related theory knowledge across 14 subjects
• Includes the new Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) training
• Ground School is split into 3 phases with exams at the end of each phase
• Delivered via a blended learning approach, with lessons being taught virtually via Microsoft Teams and also taught in the Training Centres
• Consists of both virtual and practical classroom lessons, Computer Based Training (CBT) and student led private studies (minimum of 750 training hours)
• Duration: Approximately 43 weeks
• Location: CAE London Gatwick, CAE Madrid or CAE Brussels

• Theoretical training at CAE, preparing Trainee for the official ATPL (A) examination, organised by the relevant Aviation Authority.
• Use of all courseware and didactical material needed to prepare the Trainee for the official ATPL (A) examination.

• Class 1 Medical renewal (It is strongly recommended that Trainees maintain a valid medical at all times)

• Must be at least 18 years of age at start of programme
• Must have successfully completed secondary education
• Proficient in the English language (verbal and written) *English Language certificate may be required
• Must be able to obtain a UKCAA or EASA Class 1 Medical

Stage 1: Online Application

CAE will review all candidate applications to assess whether they successfully meet the criteria for the ATPL Theory Full Time. Successful candidates through this stage will be invited to complete an assessment with CAE.

Stage 2: ADAPT Test

Applicants who successfully pass the first stage of the selection process screening will be invited to attend the next stage of the CAE assessment, which will take place virtually or at CAE locations across Europe.

The assessment will cover:

• Personality Questionnaire – typical behavioural preferences and tendencies
• Progressive Mathematics – applied understanding of key, relevant mathematical concepts
• Progressive Physics – applied understanding of key, relevant physics concepts
• Cognitive – key cognitive aptitudes, abilities and reasoning skills
• FAST – learning potential and multi-tasking under pressure

On successfully reaching the required standards, you will then be offered a position on the ATPL Theory Full Time Programme. A training advisor will be in touch in regards to start dates and further enrolment information.
