Welcome to Life at CAE. We are honored to highlight our employees and their remarkable achievements, talent, and exceptional contributions they make to our company. We hope our employee stories inspire you to join our team.
“I would recommend CAE as an internship to others because it teaches you a lot about software development. I worked on large codebases and had the freedom to implement the feature I was working on in the way I thought was best. In addition, there is a lot of guidance for anytime you need it.” Greg Katchis, Binghamton University, CAE Software Engineer Intern.
Greg Katchis joined our CAE Binghamton team this summer as a Software Engineer Intern. When reflecting on his summer, Greg told us that one of the highlights of working at CAE was the collaborative atmosphere and having the opportunity to work closely with other interns and gain invaluable hands-on experience. The internship program offered a deep dive into software development, while benefiting from the guidance and support of the surrounding team.
CAE is proud of its work culture and collaborative spirit and is committed to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive atmosphere that facilitates personal and professional development. Greg’s journey as a software engineering intern has been marked by learning and growth. We hope that the skills Greg has acquired at CAE this summer will be an asset to him as he pursues his degree. We wish you continued success Greg!

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in 2020, Christine Trebing joined CAE as an intern. She then spent four years gaining valuable experience before transitioning into a full-time Software Engineer role as part of the Synthetic Environment Software (SES) Interoperability Group. Her decision to join CAE was influenced by her mom, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, who also worked at CAE, and by several UTA professors who encouraged her to pursue the opportunity.
“At CAE, we believe in creating a learning culture in which employees are empowered in their development. Working alongside teams of experienced professionals, employees learn and expand their knowledge in their field of interest and gain valuable experience to successfully grow their careers,” says the CAE HR Team
Christine’s journey with CAE has positively impacted her professional growth. She has been immersed in various engineering disciplines, including hardware, program, and systems engineering. She has also had the opportunity to learn about different interoperability standards.
As a high technology company, CAE’s engineering department is dedicated to providing the utmost quality service, ensuring innovation, reliability, and efficiency. Our engineers play a crucial role in supporting CAE’s mission to help elevate safety, efficiency, and readiness so that our customers are Prepared Today and Ready for Tomorrow.
“Our engineering department works on full flight simulators (FFS) and maintenance trainers. Using realistic video game technology, we help create a fully immersive training environment to support our military customers. Our interoperability group is the backbone to a lot of our simulators and training, allowing for communication across networks and systems” says Christine Trebing.
Christine spends a lot of time designing, coding, and testing with pilots which is one of her favorite aspects of the job. As a product owner, she has the opportunity to mentor others. Christine explains, “We have an agile structure in our software engineering department. The product is the systems we work in. As a product owner, we help design and provide assistance to our team members to ensure everything gets completed. We answer questions, mentor new engineers on our team, and interface with our program managers and functional managers.”
At CAE, our engineers thrive in a collaborative environment, where teamwork fuels innovation and success. This collaborative culture not only strengthens our solutions but also fosters a supportive workplace where team members feel safe reaching out for assistance. By sharing knowledge and expertise, our engineers empower one another to solve challenges, grow personally and professionally, and contribute to CAE’s mission as a team.
“We have a talented group of engineers here. Such great engineers that are willing to help you and collaborate on solutions. I have the opportunity to team up with people in our Arlington, TX and Tampa, FL site. The aspects of my job that are most fulfilling are the people I work with. We have a fun collaborative culture. Also, whenever we do a test event and we get to see the pilot use our simulator and hear their feedback, it is incredibly special and cool to see them in their element,” says Christine.
Christine does not just have a wonderful team – she also has a four-legged partner by her side! Mocha Latte is her medical alert service dog who has been her loyal companion since 2019. Mocha takes her job seriously, eagerly suiting up in her working harness each day, excited to be part of the team. She is always there to assist Christine while also bringing a little extra joy to the CAE team. During meetings, you will often find Mocha lounging under the table, and if she alerts for assistance, Christine’s coworkers are always ready to help. With Mocha’s presence, the team not only gets to work with a dedicated service dog but also enjoys an extra dose of warmth and ‘pawsitivity’!
A big thank you to Christine for sharing her journey at CAE. From a CAE intern to a full-time CAE Software Engineer, her story is a testament to the opportunities available.
