Using Microsoft's HoloLens to Enhance Training
Monday, Jan. 20th
12:30 – 1:30 pm
San Diego Convention Center, 5B
Timothy Whitaker, CAE Healthcare, Academy Operations Leader

There are a wide variety of uses for augmented and virtual reality within a training program or as a just-in-time (JIT) training tool. One of the most significant hurdles organizations face is how to shift their educational curriculums to include AR, MR, or VR. From our experience, it is not as simple as making the shift overnight. It requires thought, exploration, and experience to help show the value and impact this technology can have within an educational and patient safety program. In this session, we will set the stage for how AR, VR, and MR can be used within your program and demonstrate opportunity for utilization. You will have a chance to see what the future of education looks like first hand.

IMSH Educational Program Sessions:

Psychological Safety in Prebriefing: What's the RISK?
Monday, Jan. 20th
1:30 - 2:30pm
San Diego Convention Center, Room 4

Healthcare and Aviation Simulation: Links Between the Two
Monday, Jan. 20th
1:30 - 2:30pm
San Diego Marriott, Balboa
Timothy Whitaker, CAE Healthcare, Academy Operations Leader

Healthcare simulation compared to aviation simulation: what have you heard? This session will present and analyze the links between the two (based on real-world observations and investigation of both settings) as well as the unique components of each, comparing and contrasting the constructs, concepts, limitations, and fundamentals of each. Through this analysis, find out how your healthcare simulation practices can be improved from the practices in aviation.

Simulation Program Consultations:

Get the most out of your Simulation Center through a comprehensive consultation to identify opportunities and strategically build a course of action specific to your needs.

Let us partner with you and pair you with one of our world-wide CAE Healthcare Academy team members to consult on your Center’s design and planning, define any operational and training needs, determine potential staffing and accreditation gaps, and take a comprehensive look at your Center for any specialized areas of interest or concerns you may have.
